Lucie Watillon

Lucie WatillonI started climbing when I was 6 years old but I was already climbing everywhere before doing it.

I was not born in a family of climbers and I started really by chance. It's partly thanks to my brother. He had been advised to do this sport to improve his vision in space, but he didn't get hooked at all. From the first time I entered the climbing gym I was fascinated by this sport. I no longer pretended to dance, I absolutely wanted to start climbing.

Presentation

So I started climbing lessons, I made my first cliff trip in Freyr when I was 7 years old. I quickly started to climb competitions.

When I was 10 years old, I met Nicolas Dejeneffe, it was with him that I really started to train.

In 2017, at the age of 13 I chained kale borroka, an 8b + to siurana.
I joined the Belgian national team that same year and from my first European track cut at imst I found myself on the third step of the podium.
I made several podiums in the European cups and I also found myself in the final of the youth world championship in Innsbruck, these are unforgettable moments.

It is this kind of moment that makes me want to train to reach new goals, whether on the cliff or in competitions, and live these kind of unforgettable moments!

What I like about climbing is being alone facing the wall and fighting with yourself, pushing your limits even further.
